This one hour television special (the first Encyclopedia Britannica Television special) is a "jet flight tour" of those activities on the outer edges of scientific knowledge, which today are unexplained or only dimly understood - but which tomorrow may become part of the grand, stable structure of human knowledge. Special guests include Arthur C. Clarke (author of "2001"), Isaac Asimov, scientist and author; Dr. Jonas Salk, as well as many of the world's leading scientists from the fields of biology to animal communication.
